My daughter has a large belly already and I am worried that she is due sooner or has more than one. She is suppose to only be 7 weeks but looks more like she is four months. She hasn’t had an exam yet, so we don’t know the size of her uterus. She has a DR appointment the same day you have your ultra sound.

boy girl twins make for some awesome play time. My youngest brother and sister are twins and there was a lot of dinosaurs in the doll houses. They were usually only destructive dinosaurs when my brother got bored.

on learning that they were twins my mom would always be asked “Oh how did you do it!” or “How did you manage?!” and she always had the same answer, “I don’t know I just did it”

It would be its own challenge, but I really think that you could handle it well

From experience I can say twins are a lot of work, especially if they are premature like your cousins were. But they do entertain each other as they get older and it gets easier. I hope your dates are out.

I don’t know what it is like to go through what you did with Jayden, but I can see where that would sew the seeds of a fear like that. It has been 5 months? I think stress can affect so many aspects of life, especially fertility. I can’t tell you what will or won’t happen but I do know the importance of giving yourself a break sometimes.

if it is twins, you can always give me one… i have the bad feeling that for some reason i cant have anymore kids Maybe its just a really bad fear… i dunno.

Good post. You have a wisdom beyond your years. I think unforgiveness and bitterness is the root of many illnesses, not to mention the unhappiness it creates for the unforgiving person and those around them. Forgiveness is liberating, but not always easy to achieve.

It is funny you mention dandelions being cultivated in Durban, people try their hardest to wipe them out there and I let them grow freely in my yard. I love their bitter leaves in salads and their seeds can be used in a tea to help treat bladder infections. You can also make fritters and wine out of their flowers. Besides that Damian loves blowing them, I can’t take away that kind of childhood enjoyment!

I think “weeds” might be some of my favorite flowers, even if I am not always happy with them lurking in my vegetable beds. I have to admire their resilience and they seem to attract the best pollinators to our yard.

What a beautiful flower picture! White calla lilies were called Pig Lilies in Africa and filled all the drainage ditches and swamps. People cultivated dandelions in Durban, South Africa for their flowers and their leaves.
What is one person’s garbage is another’s treasure.
Here in Mexico Bird of Paradise flowers are almost considered weeds but both Uncle Philip and ourselves plant them.

We have that gate except it isnt the extra tall one. When we had it set up, our cats were too lazy to jump over it, instead one squeezed through the bars (extra skinny kitty LOL) and the other always got stuck trying to go under.

I love forget-me-nots. They grow in my grandma’s backyard so I always love to have picnics or just read on a blanket there in the summertime.

Great response! I will add a link to your post. When our girls were growing up, family and framily get togethers were the most memorable times and they loved them. I am glad you have family and friends who you have connected with. I think many people are more disconnected and too busy sometimes to take the time for informal gatherings.

A great post, so great you are practicing EC as well.

We also use eco-disposables that we can bury or empty and this gives me great eco-karma for when we are needing to use one-use disposable diapers!

I used mainly cloth diapers on my boys. Ok except when we travel but it wasn’t very often.

I didn’t cosleep with my oldest at all. She slept in a cradle next to my bed and for us, it worked. My youngest though hated the cradle and for those first few months, before I was ready to move her into her own room/crib, we used a combination of co-sleeping and letting her sleep in her infant seat (which she adored).

Those brief months were I would wake up with my baby in my arms are a particularly happy memory for me. It has to be done safely, and as you mention with an awareness of if your own nighttime habits allow it to be such, but it is so rewarding.
