Google Maps Street View

Street view is now available for Spokane, WA. I love this Google Maps feature, you can basically “drive” around the city and see it as you would looking at the window of a car. This of course does raise some privacy issues but it doesn’t really bother me, though I did see a topless guy in my friend’s yard…

Next time I talk about places in Spokane, I’ll be able to show you where they are.

Here is some stuff in Spokane (and a couple other places):

As far as I know it is only available for the USA right now, though they want to do it for the whole world. I think it is so cool!

I had never used this feature before now. I checked out the apt. complex
and Michaels work. It is kinda kewl. Like you though, the privacy
concerns are there for me. I’m not so much worried about the average
guy as I am big brother. But then again, big brother already has this
technology and will use it whether I want them too or not. (Nobody
ask me about these things…I just don’t understand. :) I will have to keep
this feature in mind for future use.

^^^ Google is run by the government, didn’t you know? ;)

I noticed with the previous versions of Streetview you could zoom in all the way and read license plates and stuff like that. Now it’s blurry when you zoom which is a shame… People got paranoid when Google Maps came out with Satellite view, but then people realized that the pictures were 3-5 years old in many cases. I think it will be the same with Streetview.

But then again, I don’t live in America so…

I haven’t read the story yet but just saw the headline…apparently some
couple is suing google for showing their house in the street view.
    Go figure.
